Complete Oral Health Care for Your Family

Dr. Kime Whitman and her staff at Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry provide complete dental service to adults and pediatric dental services to children aged three years and up. When you and your family come into our Leesburg office, you can count on receiving personal service from a caring staff that puts your needs and your comfort first.

Rather than a standard routine for all, we believe in personalized service targeted to each individual patient. You will always receive one-on-one service for every visit, whether it’s a routine checkup, an emergency or a problem-solving procedure. For our younger patients, we encourage parents to be involved in their children’s dental care both in the office and at home, so that little ones can feel safe and comfortable with a dental healthcare routine that will become a lifelong habit.

The dental services we offer include routine examinations and cleanings, which may include fluoride treatments or dental sealants for children (and sometimes adults); emergency procedures like reattachment of lost teeth, with same-day appointments available; restorations for broken or damaged teeth like crowns or veneers; tooth replacements including dentures, partials, dental bridges and dental implants; options for correction of misaligned teeth including Invisalign clear aligners and other orthodontic options; and cosmetic dentistry services to improve your smile including teeth whitening, veneers and cosmetic dental bonding. White fillings are also available and recommended to fill cavities without silver colored fillings affecting your smile.

We also offer solutions for chronic problems like sleep apnea and its symptoms, and bruxism (teeth grinding or teeth clenching).

Different types of custom-designed and fitted dental appliances or mouthguards can position your teeth while you sleep to prevent snoring and relieve sleep apnea, or to stop teeth grinding or clenching. We want all of our patients to be comfortable and relaxed in our office, so we offer sedation dentistry for all procedures. Sedation dentistry can help you if you have dental anxiety or are just not as comfortable as you’d like to be when visiting a dentist’s office.

You can call our office at anytime during our regular hours to set up an appointment for a checkup or a consultation with Dr. Whitman. We also offer office tours, and we can answer any questions you have about your dental health care needs, our services, appointment times or anything else you need to know.

Preventive Care

Your teeth and gums have a hard job throughout your entire life. To keep them healthy, you have to make the effort to prevent problems before they start. Your job in keeping your teeth and gums healthy is to brush and floss twice a day, every day.

To keep your tooth enamel strong and prevent cavities, you should always use toothpaste that contains fluoride. There are also routines you should get into to help keep your teeth strong, like sipping water during meals to help wash away debris, and waiting at least 20 minutes after meals before brushing. This allows your tooth enamel to recover from chewing so that brushing will not damage it.

Periodontal Treatment

Gum disease starts as gingivitis. It’s the most common oral health problem around, and nearly everyone gets it at one time or another. Gingivitis can run in your family, making you more prone to it. It can also sometimes be a side effect of certain medications, or can be more likely to occur when you are sick.

Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums cause by bacteria. Cleaning your mouth correctly and thoroughly when you brush and floss is the best way you can reduce the chances of it occurring.

Restorative Dentistry

With proper oral hygiene and a bit of good look, some people can keep their natural teeth for their entire lives. But when that doesn’t happen, it is still possible to have complete function dentition and a healthy mouth with restorative dentistry.

Restorative services at Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry include procedures that repair damaged teeth or replace teeth that have been lost.

Cosmetic Dentistry

We offer a complete range of cosmetic dentistry services at Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry because we understand that the appearance of your smile is important for your self-confidence and overall emotional health. Someone who is not confident when smiling may not smile at all, which can lead to negative first impressions and even lower self-esteem.

Having a bad smile can also cause a lack of motivation to take care of your teeth, which will eventually make the situation worse and lead to serious oral health issues. That’s why Dr. Whitman and her staff believe that an attractive smile is an important part of overall dental health that cannot be ignored. Cosmetic dentistry can correct any problem with your smile, from a minor gap between two teeth to a series of multiple problems.

Emergency Dental Care

Knowing what to do in a dental emergency can save your tooth. We’re ready for your emergency at Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.

The most common dental emergency is a loosened or knocked out tooth. Depending on the nature of the injury, you may have a medical emergency that requires treatment by a doctor first. But a tooth can come out or get loosened by a low-impact bump or fall, or even by biting into something hard. When this happens, the tooth can often be saved, but you must act fast.

Sedation Dentistry

Our goal at Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry is to eliminate fear of the dentist so that everyone will make routine dental care a part of their lives.

Fear of the dentist or dental anxiety is common, and no one should be embarrassed about it. Dr. Whitman and her staff will not be offended if you admit you get anxious about dental visits, in fact, it is because we know how common dental anxiety is that we offer a solution.
